Kennel T-BoB is located on the West Coast of Norway in Bergen, best know for the mountains and fjords and the flowering in Hardanger.

Our first Bearded Collie was ordered by phone in 1978 mistakenly thought was as an Old English Sheepdog. Due to the road connections to Halden at the time, the phone was the easiest way to speak with the breeder as we would have spent 2 days on the journey.

Røsneskilen Buster was a male and arrived in 1978. Margit Hallesby was the first breeder of the breed Bearded Collie in Norway. "Buster" became a Norwegian Champion and was the most winning male at the time. He won a lot of Best in Breed, he had many Group victories and some Best in Show placements. I had my first progeny group with "Buster" and got the Honor Award.

"Buster" was mated once and he got 5 sons. "Bingo" became the latest addition to the "blood-line". "Bingo" was as his father, a very talented obedience dog but at the time very little was know about the Bearded Collies as herding dogs. They don't function as the German Shepard, Berner Sennen or the Flatcoated Retrivers. Despite the obsticles and comments, i kept working with him for herding and obedience.

Both "Buster" and "Bingo" have a bronze pin in obedience. In Norway you don't get any title from obedience before you have gone through all classes 1, 2, 3 and elite. "Bingo" unfortunately passed away at an early age, but during his time he did really well both as a show dog as he bacame a Champion and also in obedience. Several of his grand children are in the Norwegian show circuit today.

In 1987 we visited Freebees Kennel in Sweden and bought a new Bearded Collie. "Lennart" became the children's favorite. Although he received 7 Certs he never became a Champion. He would much rather spend his time cuddling in bed with his toys and stuffed animals.

"Lennart" gave us 11 good years and he was a very unique Bearded Collie. He mated with West Bearded Blue Eirin and my first little was in 1989 a reality. Three of the puppies from the litter of "Lennart" and Eirin entered the show circuit; T-BOB's Arthur The Climber became Norwegian Champion, T-BOB's Arja The Wragler became Champion, and T-BOB's Adorable Easy Easy received 8 Certs and several Best in Breed.

When West Bearded Blue Eirin's owner came down with an unfortunate case of cancer, she asked that I take over ownership of "Sess" after her passing. I was delighted to, and when "Sess" arrived she was hopelessly devoted to food and treats and had problems with her weight. When i showed "Sess" for Marion Spaving, she commented: "Madam, think ahead and don't dwell in the past". "Sess" never went back to the ring after that.
Today 7 Beaded Collies reside at Kennel T-BOB. The eldest being "Bilbo", International Nordic Champion Certified Causing a Commotion born in 1993. "Basie", Norwegian and Finnish Champion, is also part of the "crew" but lives with Torstein in Risør.

At the World Dog Show in Amsterdam "Bilbo" was shown as a veteran. He won group 1 veteran on day one, and the following day he became 2nd Best in Show Veteran. A Bearded Collie from Norway has never achieved a higher status in the International Show Cicuit. His father, Potterdale Dignity, came close by winning Group 1 and was an International Champion world winner in 1994.

From "Bilbo's" litter-siblings of 9, 7 of them made Champions. "Bilbo" has a very good and deep genetic heritage that he has not only transferred to his children, but also his grand children. he is the father of Champions in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. His Grand children are Champions in Finland and Norway. "Bilbo" is the first Bearded Collie that has won the Norwegian Kennel Club's Progeny Group. In 2002 he entered at number 2, in 2003 he won and in 2004 at age 11, he was again number 2.

At the World Dog Show in Dortmund, T-BOB's Britney the Norwegian Way already Norwegian Champion, became number 4 in her class of 27. T-BOB's Blossom Is My Name placed at number 3 in her group of 23, and "Basie" entered at number 3 of 47 males in his group. I also had my first breeder showing abroad and got "Excellent".

Hungarian Pulis
After carrying around a photograph of a white dog i didn't know the name of, Leif Ragnar Hjort, well known today for his Norwegian Puli Breeding, called me and told me he had bought a Puli from England.

This is how i got my first Puli from Pat Lanz in 1986. His name was raven King, but he was named "Bosse" at home. He became the most winning male puli and I don't think anyone has beaten his record to date. he was the first Puli in Norway to win Group 1. All the photographers and journalists loved to take his photograph and "Bosse" would make sure they always got the best shots and posed with the most extreme joy! He quietly and calmly fell asleep on his old blue pillow that had been his companion since he arrived in Norway.

Best Regards, Merete

OM KENNEL T-BOB

NORSK VERSJON:
